Glens Falls, New York

Nestled just outside the six million-acre Adirondack Park, the Glens Falls City School District is surrounded by diverse businesses, an eclectic cultural backdrop and a vibrant outdoor adventure scene.  As an integral part of the community, the district implemented a $15.6 million renovation project to improve the auditorium, swimming pool, locker rooms and multi-use athletic field.

The auditorium underwent a significant renovation to provide a contemporary venue for student performances and community use.  Designed to deliver the finest listening experience, the performance space is equipped with an electronic acoustical enhancement system and acoustical cloud ceiling system.

Comfortable seating for 1,400 compliments the vibrant interior creating a stunning appearance from the audience and proscenium.  Stage improvements include motorized rigging and theatrical lighting systems.  Upgrades to the stage flooring, aisle carpeting and lighting also add modern nuances to the theater.

Originally built in 1968, the swimming pool has been completely renovated.  New mechanical and timing systems, an acoustic ceiling system, and wall panels diminish the sound levels during practices and competitions.  Indirect lighting, new spectator seating and new tile finishes create a fresh, vibrant aquatic center for swimming meets and community swim programs.

Additional renovations included a new synthetic turf athletic field, with bleachers to accommodate 2,500 spectators, press-box and concession building.  Improvements to locker rooms, which had not been revamped since the early 50's, incorporated new lockers, finishes, ventilation, bathrooms and showers.  A major window replacement was completed throughout the building featuring
high-performance window frames that better insulate the high school.
