Interior Designer 2

Mosaic Associates Architects is seeking candidates to join our team as an Interior Designer 2 and grow with our firm. Our offices are in the historic Frear Building in energetic downtown Troy, NY.

DESCRIPTION

Mid-level designer (5-10 years’ experience) responsible for assisting project team(s) with the design of interior elements of new and renovated spaces. Interior Designer will typically work on multiple projects under the supervision of Interior Designer 3 and architectural project manager(s).

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5-10 years’ experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and pdf software required.
  • Working knowledge of SketchUp is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Researching interior products including finishes, furniture, casework, etc.
  • Managing vendor correspondence and outreach, including scheduling vendor visits and presentations, and coordinating lunch & learns with admin team.
  • Collaborating with the architectural design team on all stages involving interior design: programming, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
  • Meeting with clients through all phases of design to review and finalize interior selections.
  • Creating finish boards and/or PowerPoint presentations to convey finishes to the client.
  • Formal presentations to the client and other stakeholders as required/requested.
  • Assisting with specifications related to interior design elements.
  • Producing design documentation including finish legend and schedule, finish plans and elevations, and millwork details.
  • Assisting with budget estimating of interior design elements and ensuring that interior selections are within budget.
  • Assisting with Construction Administration process including submittal review and supplemental design tasks.
  • Delegating tasks to entry-level interior designer(s) and maintaining project task logs. Monitor workflow and deadlines.

SALARY RANGE

  • $65,000 – $80,000
